Exhale by Sensed. — Guide
EXHALE BY SENSED.

Welcome to your Exhale guide

This pendant is a small cue to slow your breath and return to your body. Use this page anytime you need a reset—30 seconds or 10 minutes.

How to use the pendant

  1. Wear the pendant normally on the chain.
  2. Lift the bar gently to your lips (no biting, no pressure).
  3. Inhale softly through the nose.
  4. Exhale slowly through the mouth with the pendant resting at the lips—like a calm “release” cue.
Rule of thumb: inhale easy, exhale longer—through the mouth, with the pendant at the lips.
Example: inhale 4 seconds (nose), exhale 6–8 seconds (mouth, pendant at lips).

Choose your mode

If you feel lightheaded: lower the pendant, breathe normally for 20–30 seconds, then restart with a shorter exhale (e.g., 4 in / 5 out).

Breath practices (Exhale through the pendant)

All practices follow the same structure: inhale through the nose, then exhale through the mouth with the pendant resting gently at the lips. Keep the exhale smooth (no force).

1) Quick Reset (60 seconds)

  1. Bring the pendant to your lips.
  2. Inhale through the nose for 4.
  3. Exhale through the mouth for 6 with the pendant at the lips.
  4. Repeat for 6 cycles.
Focus: slow mouth exhale + relaxed jaw + shoulders down.

2) Box-Soft (2 minutes)

  1. Pendant to lips (gentle contact).
  2. Inhale 4 (nose) → hold 2 (pause softly).
  3. Exhale 6 (mouth) → hold 2 (rest at the bottom).
  4. Repeat for 6–8 rounds.

3) Downshift Ladder (3 minutes)

  1. Inhale 4 (nose), exhale 6 (mouth, pendant) × 4 rounds.
  2. Inhale 4, exhale 7 × 4 rounds.
  3. Inhale 4, exhale 8 × 4 rounds.

4) Longer Session (8–10 minutes)

  • Minute 1–2: pendant to lips, breathe naturally; let the mouth exhale slowly lengthen.
  • Minute 3–6: inhale 4 (nose) / exhale 8 (mouth, pendant).
  • Minute 7–8: inhale 4 / exhale 6 (keep it easy).
  • Minute 9–10: return to normal breath; keep the pendant close and notice the after-effect.
Optional add-on: “Name + Soften” (30 seconds)
On each mouth exhale through the pendant, silently name one area and soften it: “jaw,” “shoulders,” “belly,” “hands,” “eyes.”
Safety notes
  • No breath holds or long exhales while driving, swimming, or in water.
  • Reduce intensity if pregnant or if you have respiratory/cardiac conditions.
  • Stop if chest pain, faintness, or severe discomfort appears.

What this is training

  • Interruption: bringing the pendant to the lips breaks the stress loop.
  • Exhale dominance: longer mouth exhales cue downshift.
  • Somatic cueing: lips + exhale = immediate “slow down” signal.
Micro-ritual: pendant to lips → long mouth exhale → say one word: “slow.”

Pendant care

  • Wipe with a soft microfiber cloth after use (especially if it touches the lips).
  • Avoid harsh chemicals; do not spray perfume directly onto the pendant.
  • Store dry, in its pouch/box.
Hygiene + skin sensitivity
If irritation appears, stop wearing and keep the pendant off skin (over fabric) until resolved. If using it at the lips often, wipe regularly and avoid sharing the pendant with others.

FAQ

How often should I use it?
2–5 micro-resets a day. The cue is the same: pendant to lips → slow mouth exhale. Add a longer session when stress stacks.
I can’t slow my breath.
Keep it smaller: inhale 3 (nose), exhale 4 (mouth, pendant). After a few cycles, extend the exhale by 1 second.
Best time of day?
Morning (set baseline), mid-day (reset), evening (downshift). Use the pendant cue consistently so your body learns it fast.
